When dressing up is a privilege

Just like girls here in the US, little girls in Africa love to dress up too.


It’s the end of the school year graduation ceremony.

These are pictures of some of the little girls from the Casa Emanuel Orphanage in Guinea Bissau, West Africa where I did my first project.  We sewed dresses for the girls.


Education is the only way out for most of the children in Guinea Bissau. Girls are not equal and are looked down on.  Their future aspirations are dim.


Still, there is hope and times are changing.
