Billed as the largest dinner party in the world, the event is held in major cities across the globe.
Each summer, in the golden glow of the early evening light, thousands of people emerge from their apartments, dressed all in white, and head to a secret location for the picnic of all picnics.
Launched by François Pasquier and his close friends in 1988.
At the last minute, the location is given to thousands of friends and acquaintances who have been patiently waiting to learn the “Dîner en Blanc's” secret place. Thousand of people, dressed all in white, and conducting themselves with the greatest decorum, elegance, and etiquette, all meet for a mass “chic picnic” in a public space.

On Monday August 25th, 2014 New York City saw its greatest attendance of Diner en Blanc with 4,800 dedicated attendees dining in Nelson A. Rockefeller Park. New friendships, continued ones, wedding proposals, Diner en Blanc has so much meaning to so many of you and we have received some amazing emails about them all. It has become such a momentous occasion for so many of you and that makes all the hard work worth it! Source

The event, which was attended by between 12,000 and 13,000 people this week, took over 6 bridges in Paris. And the festivities went on well into the evening with a DJ truck set up facing L’Esplanade Des Invalides and the grand finale, an 11PM sharp simultaneous lighting of sparklers. Truly a site to see and an event not to be missed once you find someone who knows someone.

First and foremost, thank you for your interest and email.
Regrettably, the email that was sent as we are presently looking for a team that would be interested in organizing the Dîner en Blanc®in San Francisco.
Did we forfeit this year? Is it too late? I don't know. It is a secret dinner party after all...so..maybe I'll be hearing something soon. Fingers crossed. Hope so. I'll let you know.
If not, maybe next year. I plan to sign up again.
